POLSEC 1, composed of 7 agents, focuses on the sectors of industry, knowledge economy, and innovation. It contributes to defining industrial policy and is specifically responsible for

• Producing studies on industry, research & development, innovation, and human capital
• Analyzing the evolution of research & development, its determinants and impacts on enterprise development and economic growth
• Analyzing the demographics of enterprises and determinants of their evolution

The team also supports the development and assessment of measures to improve the business environment and intellectual property policies, and monitors policies related to higher education and schooling.

Job Description

As part of the sectoral policy sub‑direction, the chief of Polsec1 will manage 6 agents. The Polsec1 office produces studies on teaching, R&D, innovation, industry, and economic policies related to these areas. Responsibilities include:

• Providing oversight and advisory on policies related to primary & secondary education and higher education
• Managing client relationships with the DGE, the Ministry of Research, the Ministry of Education, ministerial offices, and other ministries
• Contributing to industrial policy strategy, feeding sectoral analysis of the French industry and territorial issues, and monitoring the "Programme d'Investissements d’Avenir" (PIA)
• Engaging in the development and evaluation of measures to improve the business environment and intellectual property protection, and participating in the board of France Brevets
