Technical Drawing Specialist, Land Engineering
Organization
- Function: SLS, Installation Department, 778 Land Engineering

- Supervisor: Manager, Land Engineering
Context
- Technical Drawing Specialist is a role within the Land Engineering department
- The department is responsible for ensuring the performance of all necessary activities related to the activities and projects within the Land installation department (documentation, planning, procurement and follow up)
- Office location is Paris
Purpose
- Develop and update technical drawings for land engineering projects.
- Reporting to Manager Land Engineering, delivering drawings to the department engineers on a daily basis.
Areas of Responsibility
The primary work tasks are, but not limited to:
Project Work
- Develop technical drawings, based on input from engineers.
- Take ownership of the project scope and issues and contribute to the development of the drawings.
- Archive project documentation in cooperation with document controller or engineer.
- Produce as‑built documentation.
- Participate in DIC and IDC processes.
Leadership
- Clearly define the work tasks with stakeholders.
- Clarify expectations with the stakeholders.
- Maintain an active dialogue with other departments.
- Aim for mutual trust and an inclusive attitude.
- Be open to suggestions and respect others’ opinions.
- Give constructive feedback.
- Distribute relevant information within the project teams, the department and to relevant stakeholders.
- Promote Nexans and Land installation. Do not spread negativity.
System and Maintenance
- Maintain the department’s drawing archive.
- Ensure that the department has access to printed drawings on request.
Planning
- Actively seek information on the need for drawing support within the departments' projects through continuous dialogue.
- Provide input to drawings in the projects Master Document Register based on the standard MRD.
- Stay updated on the overall project plan.
Resource Planning
- Independent monitoring of workload. Keep open dialogue with manager regarding workload levels.
- Actively seek to relieve others of workload in periods of spare capacity. Seek relief in periods of too high workload.
- Contribute with drawing expertise/capacity to the Tender department (and other departments) on request, if sufficient capacity.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Verify that the work is performed according to internal and external rules, laws and regulations.
- Report undesired events.
- Serve as a good example and a role model. Take care of your colleagues.
Quality
- Deliver the agreed quality.
- Follow up that internal instructions are applied.
- Follow up that contract requirements are applied.
- Report deviations in quality.
Development
- Contribute to the department’s development.
- Give input for standardisation and improvements.
Training
- Maintain and develop the competency within the department.
- Share knowledge.
- Participate and take initiative to relevant training and courses.

- Ensure drawings are developed according to expected quality and proper drawing standard.
- Contribute to implementing competitive and professional engineering solutions.

Requested Competencies and Qualifications
- Expert level in AutoCad.
- 5+ years experience with technical drawing.
- Good communication skills.
- Manage Norwegian and English, verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Team worker.
