Design Technician II

Job Purpose

The technical writer is responsible for creating and updating technical instructions and all related documentation for the company’s products, aimed at customers, users, and commercial events. The role also supports marketing activities by formatting marketing support materials such as catalogues, brochures, videos, and animations.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and implement technical instructions for new products and adaptations of standard products based on information from design engineers.
• Submit documents for review by technical and external stakeholders.
• Ensure translation of documents into English and other languages through external providers.
• Create new documents or media for special operations or presentations using advanced software.
• Update the R&D catalogue annually and produce the R&D newsletter every two months.
• Format all printed media and enforce the group’s graphic charter for all communications.
• Verify that photos, videos, or audio tapes are royalty‑free and sourced from authorized providers.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation on the intranet.
• Manage numbering and indices for communication media.
• Ensure rigorous presentation and consistency across documents.
• Report to the Research and Development Manager, collaborate with the marketing manager, design office staff, sales managers, product management, plant manager, and external service providers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Very good technical knowledge (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, electronic, etc.).
• Fluency in French; written, spoken, and reading proficiency in English.
• Knowledge of the graphic charter.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for document layout.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Composer & Visualize for realistic renderings, and After Effects for video editing.
• Understanding of Nuclear Safety Culture.
