Design Studio - Industrial Designer Project Manager (H/F)

Overview

Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team developing cabin interior solutions within Airbus Industrial requirements. As part of the Design Studio, you will be involved in airline interior concept definition aiming at securing aircraft deliveries on time and quality. Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Industrial Designer (f/m) to join our Design Studio based in Toulouse, France.

Your working environment: Global capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Ideally located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean and close to the Pyrenees mountains, it offers plenty of options for outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• You will report directly to our Design Studio Leadership team for project allocation and deliverables, including development on the job.
• Plan and manage the design from conception to completion, from initial brief, design development, CMF (Colors, Material and Finish) innovation and specification, tendering for all worldwide customers through Airbus industrial process. Maintain adherence to project milestones.
• Manage and follow up on customized design projects within a multi-cultural team while dealing with customers (airlines) worldwide daily.
• Collaborate with other Airbus Departments, understand their needs, and champion the customer.
• Knowledge of 3D tools and visual making during the design concept phase is required.
• Create high-quality presentation materials that communicate the design intent at any phase of a project.
• Contribute to evolving design culture and process in the Toulouse and Hamburg Design studios; bring new thinking and creative ideas to strengthen the Design Studio approach.
• Contribute to the Design Studio Strategy implementation to bring value to Airbus and our customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in one or more design fields: industrial, product, airline, automotive, architectural, interior color, material and finish. Positive mindset with a willingness to innovate.
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant design field (Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Textile Design, or related).
• Design experience in CMF, Lighting, concept, or Industrial Design is mandatory.
• Knowledge of project management is a plus.
• Rendering experience.
• Fluent in relevant software (Adobe CC, Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office, etc.). Knowledge of InDesign. CAD software such as KeyShot, SolidWorks, Blender, Rhino is a plus.
• Exceptional visual, communication, and presentation skills; ability to work seamlessly across functions.
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude; ability to manage workload and operate autonomously.
• Willingness and ability to travel to shows and suppliers domestically and internationally.
