Design Principal

This is an opportunity to join a growing workplace design & build business at a senior leadership level, taking ownership of design delivery across a portfolio of high-end commercial workplace projects throughout Europe.

You’ll lead projects from the point a concept is handed over, ensuring every stage of the design process is delivered to an exceptional standard through to technical completion. It's a hands‑on leadership role, combining client‑facing design, team management and technical oversight, while working closely with Creative, Pre‑Construction and Delivery teams to bring ambitious workplace environments to life.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process across multiple workplace fit‑out projects from concept handover through to technical delivery.
• Take ownership of all design outputs, ensuring quality, consistency and technical accuracy at every project stage.
• Manage and mentor a team of Designers, Associates and Technical Designers, supporting their development and progression.
• Allocate design resource across live projects and oversee workload planning.
• Act as the key client contact throughout the design phase, leading presentations, reviews and design sign‑offs.
• Work closely with consultants, landlords and project stakeholders to coordinate technical information and resolve design challenges.
• Partner with construction teams to manage design changes during project delivery.
• Continuously improve design processes, BIM standards, documentation and workflows, while embracing new technology and AI‑driven design tools.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience delivering commercial workplace or interior fit‑out projects internationally.
• Proven experience leading projects from concept through to detailed technical design and construction documentation.
• Revit and BIM knowledge with excellent technical coordination skills.
• Previous experience managing and developing design teams.
• Confident working directly with clients and presenting design solutions.
• Commercially aware, with experience managing design scope, programme and budgets.
• Comfortable coordinating with MEP, structural and specialist consultants.
• Degree qualified in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Fluent in French and English.
