We are searching for a dedicated and motivated Aboriginal Community Education Officer to join our team!
What You Will Do
- Undertake the administrative requirements that contribute to the delivery and maintenance of efficient work practices by contributing to the implementation of information dissemination, consultation and communication processes.
- Provide cultural advice and assist educators to be inclusive of the social, wellbeing and learning needs of Aboriginal learners by collecting and collating data and information in relation to student achievement, participation, retention and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with educators in the development and implementation of programs aimed at promoting the diversity of Aboriginal culture, language and history.
What You Will Bring
- Ability to communicate effectively with school leadership to improve Aboriginal students social, wellbeing and learning outcomes.
- Ability to support and provide advocacy for Aboriginal students and parent/carers and families on issues affecting the student's social, wellbeing and/or learning needs
- Ability to develop relationships between the school, Aboriginal parents/carers and families through supporting Aboriginal Community Voice initiatives in educational decision making
