[DDMS] Functional Architect Detailed Design (m/f)

Overview

Functional Architect (m/f) position within Airbus Helicopters Information Management directorate, Marignane/Donauworth. The successful applicant will join the Product‑Service‑Line Physical Products in the End‑to‑End Develop domain.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the Project Functional Roadmap, ensuring alignment between technical implementation teams and business stakeholders.
• Design the target functional architecture for the PLM landscape, anticipating future scalability and integration requirements.
• Author and maintain the Solution Architecture Dossier and other formal documentation, ensuring compliance with company and Airbus Group standards, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Tailor designs for superior user‑centricity; establish, monitor, and enforce performance metrics and Service Level Agreements (SLA), including an 8‑day User Management SLA.
• Safeguard the functional robustness, integrity, and operational stability of the current Airbus Helicopters PLM Backbone during transformations or upgrades.

Key Tasks

• Documentation and consistency: deliver the Solution Architecture Dossier, consolidating inputs from Large Solution Functional Architecture Dossiers.
• Strategic vision: define long‑term functional and methodological trajectories, model solutions, and perform integrated component design aligned with organizational strategy and Methods & Tools standards.
• Transversal engagement: provide functional expertise throughout the application development lifecycle, support Business Process Re‑engineering, and collaborate with other architects and developers to design high‑quality solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

• Functional architecture expertise using Archimate.
• PLM & CAD Domain mastery – 3DExperience, Dassault Systèmes, CATIA V5, VPM, Windchill.
• Methods‑Infrastructure bridge – solid understanding of databases, servers, networks, SQL, Java, C++, Web.
• Data governance & compliance – knowledge of Data Classification, Export Control, and Military constraints.
• Analytical & methodological mindset – balance software constraints with user needs, including performance and SLA requirements.
• Soft skills & leadership – strong team spirit, open communication, problem‑solving attitude, functional leadership in a large solution environment.
• Language proficiency – Advanced English; negotiation‑level French.
