Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Analyze & Optimize: Partner with developers and system designers to investigate application performance and propose scalable solutions
• SQL Tuning: Review and optimize complex SQL statements to improve execution speeds and resource consumption
• DB Configuration: Fine-tune Oracle Database parameters to meet high-availability and workload demands
• Proactive Monitoring: Monitor database systems continuously to detect, diagnose, and resolve bottlenecks before they impact users
• Innovation: Research and evaluate emerging database technologies to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA or Database Tuning Specialist
• Core Skills: Proven track record in manual SQL tuning, analyzing SQL Execution Plans, and utilizing SQL Hints
• Tools: Proficiency with Oracle monitoring and diagnostics tools (AWR, Statspack, or SQL Trace)
• Coding: Practical knowledge of PL/SQL, shell and shell scripting
• Language: Professional working proficiency in English
