Position Overview
We are seeking an outstanding Data Software Engineer to join our Data team. You will design, configure, and maintain complex data systems, including relational, non-relational, in-memory, persistent, and distributed databases, as well as parallel processing systems. Collaboration with Data Science, Software, and Infrastructure teams will be key to building robust, scalable data pipelines.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the integration of MyTraffic and Geoblink's technologies, optimize our tech stack, and influence the infrastructure of our growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new architecture for big data ingestion, processing, and storage
- Build automated data pipelines for ETL processes from multiple sources
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to develop scalable solutions
- Contribute to infrastructure configuration and DevOps practices
Team and Technologies
You will join a talented French and Spanish team experienced in Big Data, working with large geolocation datasets across Europe, and exploring new technologies to enhance our stack.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a tech environment
- MS degree in Computer Science or related field
Hard Skills
- Proficiency with various databases (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Athena, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python
- Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP), orchestrators (Airflow), and ETL tools (Spark)
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Proactive in suggesting improvements and challenging existing tools
- Curious, rigorous, organized, and methodical
- Fluent in English, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with spatial data or GIS systems
- Knowledge of geolocation algorithms
- Open-source contributions
