Within the Renewable trading team , you will work on a cloud-based solutions to optimize BESS and other power generation assets across European electricity markets.
Responsibilities
- Design optimization algorithms for BESS, CCGTs and renewable assets.
- Model BESS constraints: charge/discharge cycles, efficiency, capacity, degradation and availability.
- Optimize assets scheduling, considering ramp-up/ramp-down constraints, start-up costs, fuel prices and operational limitations.
- Develop bidding strategies for short-term power and ancillary services markets, including FCR, aFRR and mFRR.
- Simulate and backtest multi-asset portfolios to assess performance and profitability.
- Build forecasting models for power prices, renewable generation and consumption.
- Develop production-ready optimization tools and decision-support applications.
- Work closely with traders, operators and business teams to translate operational needs into scalable solutions.
The profile we are looking for
- Strong experience in data science, mathematical optimization or operations research.
- Advanced Python skills and experience with optimization libraries or solvers
- Experience in energy management / asset optimization
- Good understanding of European power markets
- Appreciated : experience with AWS, production-grade software development, testing and CI/CD.
- Fluent English and good level of French
Practical information
Location: Paris, with occasional travel to Amsterdam
Remote work: 2 days per week
Contract: Permanent employment or freelance
