DATA MODELER (F/M)
Data Modeler
As a Data Modeler , you will contribute to the design, maintenance, and evolution of high‑quality data models supporting Sonepar’s global data platform.
You will translate business concepts into clear, structured, and reusable data models , working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, analytics teams, and architects. By applying established modelling standards and governance rules, you will help ensure data consistency, interoperability, and trust across domains and countries.
Job Responsibilities
Modelling Quality & Standards Adoption
- Ensure data models comply with defined modelling standards, patterns, and architectural principles.
- Keep conceptual, logical, and physical models well structured, documented, and maintained.
- Design models for reusability, scalability, and performance.
Domain & Business Alignment
- Translate business concepts into a shared data language.
- Support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases across domains.
- Consider downstream consumption and data lifecycle needs in modelling decisions.
Governance & Documentation
- Consistently produce and maintain metadata, glossary terms, lineage, and documentation using approved tools.
- Proactively identify and address quality issues and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate effectively with business, data engineering, analytics, and architecture teams.
- Participate in modelling reviews and shared practices.
- Continuously improve modelling skills and domain knowledge.
Job Qualifications
- Solid experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
- Good understanding of relational, dimensional, and analytical modelling patterns.
- Ability to design models fit for analytics and data products.
- Understanding of data architecture principles in modern data platforms.
- Experience working in multi‑domain or federated environments (plus).
- Awareness of scalability, interoperability, and performance considerations.
- Experience using data modelling tools and metadata/catalog solutions (glossary, dictionary, lineage).
- Exposure to AI‑assisted modelling or documentation tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to adopt new tools and practices.
- Capacity to work closely with business and technical stakeholders.
- Clear communication skills to explain data structures and modelling choices.
- Comfortable working in international, cross‑functional environments.
