Data Engineer – Cloud Data Platform & ELT

Our client, a prominent organization in the media sector, is looking for a Data Engineer to strengthen their data platform team. The role focuses on advancing the maturity of the cloud data architecture by building real-time data applications and scalable ELT pipelines.

• Design, build, test, and manage robust data management systems.
• Map and describe data from various source systems to target data stores.
• Develop and implement ELT pipelines using standardized tooling or custom connectors.
• Utilize dbt for data transformations to support advanced analytics and BI use cases.
• Monitor and optimize data quality and existing platform processes.
• Translate complex technical requirements into understandable solutions for business stakeholders.

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer focusing on the development of data platforms .
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for developing data streams and ETL processes.
• Extensive experience with AWS compute and storage services including EC2 , ECS , Lambda , S3 , and RDS .
• Proven track record in designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation .
• Solid understanding of data architecture and data governance principles.
• Experience with messaging and integration tools such as SNS , SQS , and API Gateway .
• Knowledge of security and identity management using IAM and KMS .
• Proactive and solution-oriented team player with strong analytical thinking.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Apache Spark and AWS big data services such as Glue , Athena , or EMR .
• Experience with dbt and Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Working knowledge of Go , Java , or Scala .
• Previous experience within the media industry.
• Willingness to obtain or possession of an AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
