Data Center Technician (all genders)

We are looking for a permanent Data Center Technician (all genders) full-time in our data center in Lauterbourg (France – Grand Est region).

Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician at Contabo , you will work with the existing team to install, maintain and repair servers and our other infrastructure. Your day‑to‑day work will be varied: from the cabling of IT and network components to the continuous optimization of our newly built data centres on site in Lauterbourg through server relocations or rebuilds. You will be involved in maintaining documentation and expanding our knowledge database, ensuring smooth processes in the operation of the data centre and monitoring the IT infrastructure. In case of incidents you will resolve them quickly and prevent recurrence, and you will also play an active role in change and service management processes and help continuously improve our infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Completed training in IT system electronics, IT system integration or several years of experience in server technology in data centres with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Willingness to work a shift system with continuous 24‑hour staffing and good physical condition, as carrying or lifting equipment and components is regularly required.
• Enthusiasm for electrical engineering and information technology and a hands‑on work mentality that enables you to take on responsibility without losing sight of the details.
• Technical understanding and manual dexterity to act confidently even in challenging situations.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving skills, coupled with excellent communication skills to work effectively with colleagues.
• Very good written and verbal skills in English; knowledge of French or German is nice to have.
