Data Center Operations Technician,

At Oka , we are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Operations Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level candidate to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced and rapidly growing tech industry. As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform daily routine checks and inspections of data center equipment, including servers, switches, and cabling systems

- Monitor and report on data center power, cooling, and environmental systems

- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software related issues, escalates complex problems to senior technicians or engineers

- Maintain accurate inventory of all data center assets and track changes

- Support the installation, configuration, and decommissioning of servers and network equipment

- Ensure the security and safety of the data center by following established protocols and procedures

- Respond to and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner, escalating critical issues as needed

- Maintain accurate documentation of all data center procedures and processes

- Participate in data center maintenance activities, including equipment replacement and upgrades

- Assist with project deployments and new equipment installations as needed

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent, with a basic understanding of computer hardware and networking

- 1-2 years of experience in a technical support or operations role is preferred

- Knowledge of data center operations and procedures is a plus

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Willingness to work irregular hours and be on call as needed

- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in confined spaces

- Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systems is desirable
