Job Summary
The Data Center Critical Facilities Technician will maintain, repair, and support the critical systems of Equinix data centers, ensuring continuous operation and high reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, and safety equipment.
- Inspect and troubleshoot facility equipment and resolve alarms and incidents using standard operating procedures.
- Operate and maintain critical infrastructures under the supervision of senior technical staff.
- Support the work‑approval process for service providers, coordinate work schedules, and verify vendor compliance.
- Record and update work orders, maintenance logs, and incident reports.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and manage stock levels.
- Participate in infrastructure projects such as installations, upgrades, and minor system changes.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to resolve incidents, share best practices, and mentor junior staff.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management and track key performance indicators.
- Apply energy‑efficiency measures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience; technical training in HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a data center or similar facility environment.
- Strong knowledge of facility systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) for communication with clients and vendors.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and follow procedures.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company health and safety policies.
Hours & Work Schedule
Shift work in a 3×8 rotating schedule with predictable long‑term rotation.
