Based in Lyon, France, this position offers the chance to contribute to Sanofi’s global digital transformation while developing your technical expertise in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. As a Data Engineer, you’ll help design, build, and optimize data systems that power Sanofi’s smarter, AI-enabled factories. You’ll play a key role in building scalable pipelines, ensuring data reliability, and supporting advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
What you'll do:
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines that turn raw data into actionable insights.
- Build and optimize data models for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Apply data quality checks and ensure alignment with governance standards.
- Automate data ingestion, monitoring, and troubleshooting to maintain healthy pipelines.
- Develop ETL and ML workflows to provide clean, AI-ready datasets.
- Follow best practices in CI/CD, containerization, and data engineering standards.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience implementing data pipelines and data warehouse solutions in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT, and orchestration tools.
- Proven ability to work effectively across teams and translate business goals into technical outcomes.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing (Snowflake preferred).
- Experience using Python, ETL tools (IICS or similar), and dbt.
- Knowledge of AWS and orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Understanding of CI/CD, Git, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Awareness of modern data engineering patterns and standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration abilities.
- Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent communicator across both technical and business teams.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Fluency in English required.
