Within Singulier, Graphite is our specialist data transformation practice. Focused exclusively on PE‑backed mid‑market and large companies, Graphite designs and builds scalable data and AI platforms that directly support operational performance and financial decision‑making.

We combine strategic advisory with hands‑on implementation — from due diligence and roadmap design to full‑scale delivery. Our projects are selective, business‑driven, and impact‑oriented. We don’t build technology for its own sake: every solution we deliver is tied to measurable value creation.

What You’ll Do

• Ownership of target data architectures and platform standards across engagements
• Definition and enforcement of data engineering patterns and development practices
• Technical arbitration on complex, cross‑cutting or non‑standard topics
• Validation of methodological choices (data models, pipelines, tooling)
• Hands‑on involvement in delivery setup for critical or high‑risk projects
• Participation in pre‑sales technical framing, assessments and workshops
• Contribution to senior‑level discussions with C‑level stakeholders, translating technical choices into business and execution trade‑offs
• Acting as the technical escalation point for delivery risks and blockers

The role combines architectural authority, data development leadership, and client‑facing seniority. It is not limited to design: it ensures that architectures are buildable, operable and scalable, and that technical decisions support both delivery and commercial objectives.

Requirements

• Senior background as Head / VP of Data Engineering, Principal Data Engineer or equivalent
• Strong track record in designing, building and scaling production‑grade data platforms
• Solid hands‑on experience in data development (ELT/ETL, modelling, orchestration)
• Ability to structure and lead pre‑sales technical workshops and complex assessments
• Proven ability to engage credibly with C‑level stakeholders on data strategy, architecture and execution trade‑offs
• Strong credibility with engineers, Product Owners and senior delivery leads
• Comfortable operating across multiple concurrent projects in a PE‑backed context

You will fully own Graphite’s technical vision, standards, and delivery approach.

You define how platforms are designed, how use cases are prioritised, and how trade‑offs between speed and robustness are made, and you stand behind those choices with clients and internally.

You’ll operate where architecture, operating model, governance, and business decisions intersect, and where clarity matters.
