CTO Associate

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual with practical experience in materials science to act as the CTO's structured extension. The CTO is currently the central hub connecting everything technical and everything commercial. Your job is to make it scale. Responsibilities will be transversal and include:

Communication

• Act as the translation layer between the CTO and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment between the three technical teams (Lab, AI, Materials) around shared priorities and dependencies.

Operations

• Track priorities, dependencies, risks, and commitments across the CTO's scope.
• Manage relationships with external technical suppliers and partners
• Prepare and consolidate technical updates for board meetings, investor communications, and partner reviews.
• Assist in structuring IP strategy inputs — patent timelines, external counsel coordination, documentation.
• Surface issues early with clear synthesis and proposed solutions.
• Coordinate technical admin
• Support the planning and monitoring of key technical milestones
• Stay deeply up-to-date on Altrove's technical strategy and roadmap.
• Structure technical narrative for Altrove's next fundraise.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in a scientific or engineering field (materials science, chemistry, physics, or related fields).
• 1-3 years experience required (PhD, deeptech, biotech, industrial technology, consulting, or venture-backed startup environments)
• Expertise in materials science.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to scientific discovery.
• Excellent communicator - can explain complex technical topics to non-technical people clearly and concisely
• Very organized and thorough
• Get-s*it-done attitude, stellar ownership and autonomy
• Fluent English a must, French a bonus.
