Credit Analyst - Intern
Purpose of the Job
As an Investment Analyst at Karmen, you will play a key role in expanding our portfolio by bringing your own conviction to every deal. We place total autonomy and trust in our team members from day one.
You will evaluate a diverse range of opportunities—from working capital solutions to complex acquisition financing and high-balance-sheet deals. During Credit Committees, you will present and debate your investment theses directly with Karmen’s founders. To build your cases, you will engage directly with key stakeholders (CEOs, CFOs, and advisors) to gather critical insights.
Furthermore, as a key player in a fast-growing FinTech, you will collaborate closely with our Tech department to refine our risk assessment models, enhance the customer journey, and evolve our product.
Main missions
Day-to-day at Karmen:
Deal Flow Management: Receive and qualify new opportunities sourced by the Sales team.
Financial Engineering: Analyze transactions to design the most relevant solutions.
Strategic Due Diligence: Engage directly with management teams (CEOs/CFOs) to challenge their business plans
Risk Assessment: Conduct analyses and draft comprehensive Investment Memorandums (IM) for the Credit Committee.
Decision Making: Present and defend your thesis during the Credit Committee, balancing risk management with customer interests.
Product Innovation: Collaborate on upgrading Karmen’s proprietary risk models and enhancing the overall credit process.
Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the evolution of our financial products and the customer journey.
Your Manager
You will work daily with Antoine, Head of Credit as your manager.
Your Team & Contacts
You will work with the whole Credit team.You will also work with the Sales and Tech team.You will have contact with our clients (CEO and CFO).
Qualifications
- 6 months internship or alternance, starting in July/September
- Bac +4/5 with a specialty in Corporate Finance
- At least one internship in Corporate Finance, M&A, VCs, Credit, FinTech (corporate credit specialization), or advisory.
- French (written & spoken) + English (written) mandatory
- Pack Office (VBA or Python would be a plus)
- Strong financial analysis mindset: Balance sheet, P&L, and Cash-Flow Statements analysis
- Good understanding of accounting
