Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to support large‑scale engineering and energy projects. The role sits at the interface between project teams, finance and management , ensuring accurate cost control, forecasting and financial reporting throughout the full project lifecycle.

This position offers long‑term visibility within complex, technically demanding projects in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, control and forecast project costs throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly cost reports (actuals, forecasts, cash flow, EAC, ETC, variance analysis)
• Collect, analyse and validate cost data (purchase orders, invoices, timesheets, contracts, day rates, DPRs)
• Maintain and update the Cost Management System in line with project estimates
• Support project managers and department heads with accurate financial data and analysis
• Participate in monthly cost review meetings and present cost status to senior stakeholders
• Manage cash flow forecasting in coordination with finance and treasury teams
• Identify cost risks, opportunities and deviations, and propose corrective actions
• Support tender activities, including cost feedback and financial inputs
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cost control processes and reporting tools

Profile Requirements

• Proven experience in a Cost Engineer / Project Controls role within an industrial or engineering environment
• Strong understanding of project cost control across the full project lifecycle
• High level of numeracy and strong analytical skills
• Ability to reconcile complex cost data and challenge costs versus budget
• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office tools
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders

Education & Background

• HNC/HND minimum in a cost‑related discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Degree‑level education is a plus
