Corporate Catalyst Transmission Analyst

The opportunity

IXO is seeking senior sector investors and analysts who can explain how an event affecting one business changes the outlook for economically connected businesses. This assignment concerns company exposure and catalyst transmission, rather than predicting the publication behavior of a research analyst.

From event to exposure

• Identify suppliers, customers, competitors, distributors, substitutes and geographic links, documenting how each relationship affects the business.
• Distinguish a direct economic exposure from a company that merely shares a theme or classification tag.
• Explain the mechanism through revenue, costs, margins, earnings or valuation, with a forecast of direction, scale and timing.
• State confidence and the assumptions that would change the result; distinguish an established link from a plausible but unverified one.
• Assess AI analyses for source quality, sector logic, unsupported causal steps and leakage from later events.

Your materials will include company-exposure maps, evidence-linked impact forecasts and model evaluations. Relevant sources include EDGAR filings, footnotes, exhibits, earnings transcripts and industry information. Screening outputs and company tags alone are insufficient evidence for the network.

Experience needed

The role is for a senior sector portfolio manager, lead equity analyst or event-driven investor with deep industry knowledge and practical experience reconstructing economic links from filings. Eight or more years of relevant work is the usual profile; compelling equivalent performance can also establish suitability.

Experience in leading multi-manager or event-driven funds, sector investment teams or specialist research is preferred. A well-known employer is not required. Your direct responsibilities and a relevant work sample should demonstrate the quality of your analysis.

Engagement and pay

This is a remote IXO expert opportunity at $160 to $260/hr USD. An indicative workload is about 20 hours per week; scope, actual hours, duration and the agreed rate will be confirmed before work starts. Assignment selection follows sector expertise.
