IT Solution Architect (M/F)
Location
Marignane, France
The Marignane site, the 3rd largest industrial site in France, is undergoing a deep transformation to offer a high‑tech, inclusive, and environmentally friendly working environment. You will be at the heart of helicopter manufacturing operations, creating and deploying digital solutions across a range of functions such as HR, corporate functions, procurement, quality, and programs.
Main responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end solution architectures (application, data, integration, infrastructure) in line with Airbus Helicopters and Group architecture standards.
- Ensure integration with existing Airbus Helicopters & Group ecosystems, including on‑premise and cloud‑enabled environments.
- Perform technical and functional design of application and infrastructure components based on validated functional requirements.
- Secure implementation of IT solutions by ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, IAM, national security, and export control constraints.
- Support Product Managers and Business Product Owners in translating business needs into sustainable architectural choices.
- Provide technical leadership during critical phases (design reviews, implementation issues, production incidents).
- Participate in the solution lifecycle from design to deployment and handover to RUN teams.
- Act as primary point of contact for domain‑specific IT architecture topics within the EII department.
- Define and drive a simplification and rationalisation roadmap (technical debt reduction, solution convergence, legacy retirement).
Technical scope & expertise
- Infrastructure & platforms: Virtual Machines, containerisation (OpenShift), F5, Firewalls, IAM, SSO
- Integration & data flows: MuleSoft (API/Gateway), Solace/Kafka & Event‑Driven Architecture, ESB, ETL, Debezium, Axway MFT, Control‑M
- Application & DevOps: Spring Boot, Angular, Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Artifactory, Dynatrace
- Databases: MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch
Architecture standards & patterns
- Microservices & API‑centric architectures
- Event‑Driven Architecture (EDA)
- Hybrid on‑premise / cloud architectures
- Security‑by‑design, scalability, and resilience patterns
- Alignment with Airbus Group architecture standards and governance
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT Solution Architecture
Technical skills
- Strong ability to bridge secure on‑premise environments with cloud‑enabled and containerised platforms.
- Solid background in data integration, APIs, microservices, and enterprise middleware.
- Good understanding of networking, security, and IAM concepts in large organisations.
Soft skills & mindset
- Systems thinking: design solutions that support growth, complexity, and long‑term maintainability.
- Stakeholder management: explain architectural trade‑offs and technical topics to non‑IT audiences.
- Comfortable working in complex, regulated industrial environments.
Compliance knowledge
- Knowledge of Export Control regulations (ITAR / EAR) applied to technical data is a strong asset.
