Consulting Insurance Risk Manager (internal role for an insurance company)

You will lead various transversal Risk projects spanning all P&C activities, involving (but not limited to) scenario development, materiality assessments, business referrals, and Risk analyses presented to senior management at quarterly Group and Board risk committees. You may also participate in Risk-related tasks for legal entities as needed.
These missions will be performed in close coordination with the P&C business unit, and in collaboration with colleagues from other Risk coverage teams (Life, Financial or Operational Risk), as well as with other functions such as Central Pricing, Prudential Affairs, Risk Capital, Finance or Sustainability. The position involves regular interaction with senior stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to Risk analyses for executive management and Board-level committees, liaising with senior stakeholders
- Deliver insights on specific lines of business, transversal risks and strategic topics
- Provide clear Risk opinions and actionable mitigation recommendations
Business Referrals
- Analyze business case referrals (e.g. underwriting or retrocession transactions) and provide independent Risk opinions, including conditions for acceptance
- Review strategic business initiatives and contribute to risk-informed decision-making
- Develop forward-looking risk scenarios (e.g. Cyber, Terrorism) for regular presentation to senior committees and regulatory purposes (including ORSA)
- Contribute to climate change and sustainability-related analyses
- Support emerging risk identification and scenario development
Other Responsibilities
- Support legal entities on Risk-related topics as needed
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects, including responses to supervisory requests
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science or equivalent
Experience
- 5‑7 years of experience at least (excluding VIE, internship, apprenticeship) in the P&C (re)insurance industry, with increasing responsibilities in an (re)insurance company or consulting firm specialized in actuarial sciences or P&C risk insurance projects.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to break down complex business issues into risk components
- Strategic mindset with attention to key priorities
- Ability to work autonomously across a wide range of topics
- Strong stakeholder management skills across different seniority levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear and concise style
- Solid organizational and project management capabilities, with a collaborative mindset
- Interest and ability to leverage data and new tools to enhance insights and decision‑making
