Consultant – Financial Institutions Consulting
Overview
IQVIA’s Financial Institutions Consulting (FIC) team advises investors—including private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds—on biopharma and life sciences investments. The team works on commercial due diligence, asset and target screening, portfolio company growth strategy, and exit/divestment strategy. Successful candidates will engage with clients on high‑profile strategic investment decisions across a variety of transaction situations, business models, and strategic issues.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver projects primarily in due diligence (buy‑ and sell‑side), asset/portfolio/company valuation, asset screening, and growth strategy.
- Leverage consulting and/or transaction advisory experience, IQVIA tools, and methodological know‑how to produce discrete workstreams that address client and business questions.
- Solve strategic issues and diligence questions through a structured, evidence‑driven approach, working independently or in small teams as part of project workstreams.
- Drive development of high‑quality deliverables on a day‑to‑day basis, using primary and secondary research approaches and deriving analytical and qualitative insights.
- Serve as a core team member and workstream lead, presenting key project insights and recommendations to project management and leadership to ensure engagement satisfaction and support long‑term client relationships.
- Contribute to overall FIC team capabilities, including the development of intellectual property, marketing materials, training, recruitment, and proposal development.
About You
- Minimum 4–5 years of professional experience in strategy consulting, M&A/BD&L roles, or within a financial institution (e.g., private equity, venture capital).
- Experience advising clients on commercial issues in the biopharma or life sciences industry and/or on financial investments, with exposure to due diligence, valuation, asset identification, growth strategy, and forecasting projects.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplined teams, including prior workstream oversight responsibilities.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, coupled with qualitative research capabilities, problem‑solving mentality, keen eye for detail, and critical thinking.
- Ability to conduct primary and secondary research and analysis to assess business performance and synthesize findings into client deliverables.
- Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills, including presentations and report writing.
- Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the biopharma and life sciences industry.
- Evidence of career progression in consulting and/or transaction advisory roles.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MBA not required but a plus).
- Fluency in English, spoken and written.
- Willingness and ability to travel when required.
- Right to live and work in the recruiting country.
