Purpose of the Job
Prepare Tenders: Provide construction methodology and scheduling as key inputs to the Tender. Define a suitable sequence of works, coordinate construction activities with partners to perform the estimation with homogenous and validated assumptions. Offer technical expertise in drafting narratives related to the project schedule.
Support Projects: Assist the region during the early stages of the construction phase. Bring support for efficient team's mobilization, focuse on construction staging, sequencing, phasing, monitoring, and coordination. Perform peer reviews with the construction teams to assess their maturity and identify areas for improvement.
Transversal: Support Turnkey planning & construction director to define and review processes and instructions.
Responsibilities
- Develop a work sequence for the schedule using gap analysis, standard methods, or previous experiences, considering each entity's share of work.
- Review and get approval from Product Lines on the work sequence, methodology, and tools before issuing the schedule.
- Provide technical support for risk mitigation or alternatives based on the critical path for planning review. Identify and propose construction optimizations and mitigations.
- Challenge partner construction schedules and ensure key links with partners are established.
- Assist the Bid Manager during negotiations with Consortium Partners and the Client until the proposal is submitted and the contract signed.
- Contribute to shared practices and reference database consolidation.
- Coach and guide Construction Managers as needed.
During Project Execution
- The EHS plan by construction teams and closure of identified EHS issues.
- Alstom Construction Quality process follow-up
- Coordination of all Alstom construction activities and Site management.
- Audits on work sequencing in line with the Project Master Schedule, proposing schedule mitigations/actions.
- Construction progress monitoring.
- Monitoring readiness of construction interface and method documentation with the Project Engineering Manager.
- Sharing best work practices and Return of Experience between entities
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 5 years in construction coordination on railway project background
- Good overall knowledge of railway systems, projects and technologies
- Knowledge of the scheduling methods (Time Chainage, GANTT) and tools (Primavera, Tilos, Ms Project …)
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- Conflict management
- Multi-tasking activities
