Computer Vision Engineer
SkinBit is building the next generation of full-body dermatological scanners, combining high-resolution multi-camera imaging, controlled illumination, 3D reconstruction, and advanced algorithmic analysis to enable early skin cancer detection at scale.
We are building a clinical-grade system where image quality and algorithmic performance directly impact medical outcomes . The scanner is real, the hardware is evolving, and the computer vision stack is a core pillar of the product.
We are strengthening our France-based team with a senior / lead computer vision engineer who will own the CV/AI projects end-to-end.
The Role
You will be responsible for the computer vision and deep learning foundations of SkinBit’s analysis platform.
This is a foundational role for a builder who thrives on autonomy, technical ownership, and developing high-impact AI systems from the beginning . You won’t just maintain existing pipelines, you will actively propose innovative solutions, and lead projects from ideation to production.
If you are passionate about bridging the gap between cutting‑edge research and reliable production‑grade software that solves real-world clinical challenges, this role is for you.
This is a hands‑on, senior execution role , not a theoretical research position.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Execute Computer Vision Projects
- Take end-to-end ownership of computer vision projects, aligning technical execution with product goals
- Drive the critical algorithmic milestones that directly impact the product’s core capabilities:
- Model optimization: advanced improvement and fine‑tuning of our core segmentation models
- Model development: development and implementation of clinical feature detection models from scratch
- Temporal analytics: robust longitudinal tracking algorithms to monitor changes over time
Architect & Build Deep Learning Models
- Design, train, and evaluate deep learning models using Python and PyTorch
- Define and own model architectures, training strategies, and evaluation protocols
Ship to Production
- Bridge the gap between R&D and deployment
- Ensure models are optimized, scalable, and robustly integrated into the production environment
Drive Algorithmic Innovation
- Serve as a core technical driver , proactively proposing new architectures, methodologies, and tools
- Solve complex computer vision problems at the core of clinical performance
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Optical & hardware teams (input data quality, calibration, sensor behavior)
- Product & clinical teams (real‑world constraints, reproducibility)
- Document technical decisions and contribute to the industrial robustness of the system
