Compliance VP | Financial Market Advisory
This is a newly created VP-level Compliance role with an international bank in Paris.
The bank is expanding its capital markets business and now requires a capital markets compliance professional to support this growth and provide hands-on advisory support as it scales.
In this role, you would be closely involved with the front office, engaging with regulators and covering areas such as financial market risk and transaction reporting. It’s a high-impact position offering excellent visibility and the chance to help shape the bank’s compliance framework in a growing area of the business.
You must have an understanding of the complexity of Capital Markets & Products Regulations.
The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate compliance risks within this area of financial markets and engage with traders or salespeople to determine whether those risks are acceptable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary Compliance Advisory contact for private and public-side business units, including Debt Capital Markets, Derivatives, and Foreign Exchange.
- Foster strong relationships across all levels of the organisation to support a robust compliance culture.
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory frameworks relevant to a universal banking environment (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, MAR), ensuring business adherence and assisting in the resolution of potential or actual compliance breaches.
- Act as a compliance subject matter expert (SME) on business initiatives and cross-functional projects, contributing to risk assessments, product reviews, and regulatory change implementation.
- Collaborate with other entities within the global group to ensure alignment with Head Office and local compliance expectations.
- Uphold the integrity and reputation of the Compliance function by ensuring high standards of conduct and governance are maintained.
Candidate Profile:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar Compliance Advisory role within the financial services or capital markets industry.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting trading and capital markets activities.
- Proven experience in advising on regulatory compliance issues, with the ability to evaluate risk and make well-informed judgments.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and promoting a compliance-focused mindset.
- AMF certification and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline are necessary.
