Role Description

This position is responsible for executing second line of defense compliance and operational risk oversight for CFO valuation activities in Bank of America’s EMEA entities. The role reviews and challenges these activities such as the calculation, governance, controls, data quality and regulatory reporting of Prudential Valuation adjustments. The role ensures requirements of the Global Compliance Enterprise Policy, the Operational Risk Management Enterprise Policy, the Compliance and Operational Risk Management Program and Standard Operating Procedures are implemented and identifies, challenges, escalates, and mitigates risks in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess risks and effectiveness of Front-Line Unit processes and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, while responding to regulatory inquiries, other audits, and examinations.
  • Engage in activities to provide independent compliance and operational risk oversight of CFO valuations activities in Bank of America’s EMEA entities in alignment with the Global Compliance – Enterprise Policy, the Operational Risk Management – Enterprise Policy and the Compliance and Operational Risk Management Program and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify and elevate problems or issues that arise and drive actions to address root causes that lead to compliance risk issues and/or operational risk losses.
  • Manage inventory of processes, risks, controls, and associated metrics for risk appetite and limits, reporting violations of compliance or regulatory activities.
  • Assist in the development of independent risk management reporting for respective area(s) of coverage as input into country/regional governance and management routines.
  • Analyze and interpret applicable laws, rules, and regulations to provide clear and practical advice to stakeholders, and identify and manage risks.
  • Review and challenge FLU/CF processes, risk, Single Process Inventory, and FLU/CF Risk and Control Self-Assessment related to themes or trends while monitoring the regulatory environment for changes.

Qualifications

  • Several years’ experience in financial services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Advisory, Monitoring, Surveillance, and Testing experience.
  • Regulatory Compliance, Reporting, Risk Management.
  • Critical Thinking, Influence, Issue Management, Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines Management.
  • Business Process Analysis, Decision Making, Negotiation, Process Management, and Written Communications.
  • Strong technical understanding of EU prudential requirements, valuation methodologies, and the end‑to‑end capital reporting and governance framework.
  • Ability to assess data quality, controls, and model risk.
  • Proficiency in independent challenge, regulatory engagement, issue management, and translating complex valuation and regulatory concepts into clear risk assessments for senior management and supervisors.
