Commissioning Manager - Data Centers (18-Month Contract)

Brightsmith are currently recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major hyperscale data center project in France.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a flagship mission-critical development, managing commissioning activities from planning through to final client handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Manage the commissioning programme from pre-commissioning through Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and client handover.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, schedules and test scripts.
• Coordinate L1-L5 commissioning activities with construction, engineering, vendors and client teams.
• Manage commissioning engineers, specialist subcontractors and equipment vendors.
• Ensure all commissioning documentation is completed accurately and in line with project requirements.
• Chair commissioning meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical issues to maintain programme milestones.
• Promote the highest standards of health, safety and quality throughout the commissioning process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on hyperscale or mission-critical data center projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building services.
• Experience managing L1-L5 commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across complex construction environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with commissioning documentation, test packs and turnover processes.
• Fluent English is essential; French language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
