Hours and shifts

Hours: 40 hours – 5 on 3 off shift pattern.

Shift Times: 5.30 am starts and finish times 9.00 pm.

Rotating Shift Pattern: 4 on 2 off

Compensation

Rate: £12.92 per hour.

Role And Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as directed by the Head / Sous Chef.
• Carry out the smooth and efficient running of kitchen department as appropriate.
• To be a team player, assisting other team members when necessary and treating them as you would expect to be treated.
• To ensure stock, deliveries and wastage are all checked and recorded in line with company and food standards.
• To adhere to the company’s Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and environmental policies.
• To ensure that food storage areas are maintained in accordance with the company’s Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Interact with colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.

Knowledge And Skills

• Minimum 1 year's experience in catering.
• NVQ Level 2 qualification in catering, desirable.
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Good literacy skills, verbal written and spoken.
• Operational awareness, understanding of HACCP, COSHH, DDA, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and DFT requirements.
• Able to work calmly under pressure.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
