Functions and responsibilities

Gridlines' commercial director for LATAM is responsible for setting and achieving the organisation's revenue and profit targets within the region. He/she leads and manages the sales, marketing, and business development teams, ensuring they have the resources, training, and support they need to perform effectively. He/she also develops and maintains relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders, and negotiates contracts and agreements. Furthermore, he/she monitors and analyses market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities, providing information and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors.

Functions Of The Commercial Director At The Strategic Level

• Participation in the company's strategic decision-making
• Market analysis and identification of new business opportunities
• Development and implementation of long-term business strategies, creating annual action plans towards the defined objectives
• Participation in the preparation and control of the annual commercial budget, both for expenses and sales
• Participation in defining the product or service offering

Functions Of The Commercial Director At The Tactical Level

• Report of actions and results obtained
• Report (monthly or quarterly) to the general management on the evolution of the department, actions and results by alignment with the defined annual plan
• General supervision and proper management of the client portfolio and prospecting for new clients
• Negotiation of contracts and commercial agreements
• Formulation of short-term pricing and promotion policies, whether in the form of campaigns or special operations
• Monitoring short-term billing and collection, as well as potential issues related to non-payment or delay
• Coordination with other departments of the company
• Implementation of systems and tools to improve the efficiency and productivity of the sales department

Functions Of The Commercial Director At The Operational Level

• Directly developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, ensuring their satisfaction, resolving short-term problems, expansion, and customer loyalty
• Detection and monitoring of business opportunities
• Monitoring and analysis of weekly business metrics and results
• Identification and management of short-term business risks
• Representing the company at relevant events and trade fairs
