Code Enforcement Officer

Position Objectives

The Village of Great Neck Plaza in Nassau County, New York is seeking to hire two Code Enforcement Officers. This is an entry level position. The Village’s Code Enforcement Unit is responsible for enforcing the Village’s parking regulations as well as a variety of other applicable ordinances and codes related to the building code, housing conditions, sanitation, health and safety, property maintenance, and other matters of public concern. Code Enforcement Officers must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes some limited evening and weekend days, and also work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Some experience or familiarity with code enforcement and solid computer skills are a plus. Qualified candidates are required to have at a minimum a high school diploma or a GED and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position that typically includes a 35 hour per week schedule. The annual starting salary is $36,000.
