Join ABSOLUT SENSING and help shape the future of climate monitoring technologies
At ABSOLUT SENSING, we develop key technologies needed to monitor, understand, and ultimately predict climate change. Through projects that combine technological innovation and environmental impact, we offer a dynamic work environment where every contribution matters.
Our primary mission:
To reduce global methane emissions through a satellite monitoring service accessible to regulators and emitters worldwide.
What we offer:
A stimulating technical challenge
Joining ABSOLUT SENSING means working on complex and innovative projects to develop solutions that address the urgent challenges of global warming. Here, every technological breakthrough has a measurable impact in protecting our planet.
Versatility and personal impact
You will have the opportunity to explore diverse challenges, beyond traditional skill silos. Curiosity and adaptability are valued—being a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ is part of our team’s DNA.
A culture of the best idea
Here, it’s not about hierarchy or status, but the strength of ideas. The best solution wins, no matter who brought it to the table that’s how we move forward together.
An agile and accessible environment
We believe in a streamlined organization, short cycles, and fluid interactions. This setup fosters responsiveness and constructive feedback, enabling us to quickly adapt to the critical needs of our mission.
A committed and caring team
You’ll join a close-knit team united by a shared mission that goes beyond individual interests: combining technical excellence with human ethics in a collaborative setting. Everyone can realize their full potential, free from ego or unnecessary barriers, working together toward a single goal: reducing methane emissions, anticipating extreme events, and protecting the most at risk populations.
Why join us?
At ABSOLUT SENSING, every idea counts, and every project makes an impact. Join us to advance science and technology while fighting climate change. Together, we are building a sustainable future.
About the team
The team is responsible for the cloud-native infrastructure and operational tooling supporting internal applications and business workflows. This includes shared Kubernetes services, observability, secure access management, storage, messaging, and miscellaneous internal tooling used across teams.
The team works at the intersection of software engineering and cloud infrastructure and collaborates closely with software, data processing, and operations teams. We foster a growth mindset in order to push boundaries and keep learning.
About the Job
As a Junior Cloud Infrastructure / Kubernetes Engineer , you will work closely with a senior engineer on the cloud-native infrastructure supporting our business applications, such as the Image Processing Chain, Mission Center, and Data Catalog. This environment has been running in production for over a year, so the role is centered on improving and operating an existing setup rather than building a new one from scratch.
Your work will combine hands-on operations, automation, and software engineering. You will help evolve this production environment and progressively take ownership of clearly scoped parts of it.
This is a mentoring-oriented role . You will be onboarded and guided by a senior engineer through code reviews, design discussions, and progressive exposure to production changes. The goal is not for you to be autonomous from day one, but to grow steadily in both technical depth and operational confidence.
You will contribute to the following areas:
- Infrastructure as Code: Contributing to the evolution and documentation of our cloud infrastructure in a way that is reproducible, maintainable, and easy to operate over time.
- Kubernetes Operations: Participating in the day-to-day operation of our Kubernetes environments and shared services, with a strong focus on reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Transversal Tooling: Building and improving internal tools, automations, and shared services that help multiple teams work more efficiently and with greater consistency.
- CI/CD: Improving the way infrastructure changes are validated, delivered, and rolled out in production so that releases are safer and easier to operate.
About you
We are looking for a junior engineer with strong technical foundations and a genuine interest in cloud-native infrastructure and software engineering.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Technical Foundations: Good working knowledge of Linux, Git, and Python. You understand the basics of networking, cybersecurity, APIs, containers, and how distributed systems fit together.
- Automation Mindset: You prefer writing tools, scripts, and reusable configuration over performing manual operations repeatedly.
- Problem Solver: You enjoy debugging real systems, investigating incidents methodically, and moving from symptoms to root cause with rigor.
- Learning Ability: You do not need to master the full stack on day one, but you should be able and eager to learn quickly with guidance.
Great Additions (Nice to Have):
We value potential, rigor, and curiosity above all. Experience in the following areas is a plus, but not mandatory for the right candidate:
- Experience with Kubernetes and GitOps workflows
- Experience with Terraform and PyInfra
- Knowledge of the OVHcloud environment
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, or Loki
- Knowledge of S3, Keycloak, PostgreSQL, or NATS
- Background in space systems, mission operations, or earth observation software environments
Studies show that women and minorities often hesitate to apply unless they meet all the criteria. If this role interests you, please apply—even if you don’t meet every requirement! We’re looking for real people, not perfection!
