Civil Engineering - Project Manager

Job Location: Raynham, MA, or Peabody, MA (Boston, MA offices)

Overview

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) you will manage client and project delivery, technical and financial aspects, and contribute to business development. You will build strong client relationships, represent CEC at conferences and meetings with regulatory agencies, and collaborate with colleagues across the country. You will develop project schedules, assemble and lead multidisciplinary teams, assign tasks, and maintain involvement through the design process. You will mentor junior and mid‑level staff and conduct technical reviews of client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project teams covering survey, environmental, geotechnical, traffic, ecological and other practice areas.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, coordinating with multiple disciplines.
• Manage technical and financial aspects of projects, ensuring deliverable quality and compliance.
• Engage clients to understand and achieve their goals, and represent CEC at conferences and regulatory meetings.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level staff on design, permitting, permitting and execution.
• Conduct technical reviews of client deliverables.
• Contribute to business development opportunities and build new client relationships.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant design and permitting experience, including earth disturbance, stormwater permits and municipal approval processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
• Experience in civil design and permitting for layout, grading, stormwater, erosion and sediment control.
• Proven ability to develop business opportunities and contribute to new projects.
• Ability to manage multi‑discipline projects that include survey, environmental, geotechnical, and construction services.
• Desire to mentor junior staff.
