Chief Risk Officer, GCC Asset Manager - Role based in GCC

Our client, a rapidly growing GCC asset manager, is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead firm-wide risk management. The CRO will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing evolution of the firm’s risk and resilience frameworks, supporting the continued scaling of its investment, governance and technology platforms. The role carries a particular focus on investment risk across private markets

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an enterprise‑wide risk register covering strategic, operational, financial, and regulatory risks
• Define risk appetite and implement mitigation frameworks aligned with the firm’s investment objectives and regulatory standards
• Oversee business continuity planning, stress testing, and crisis‑response coordination across all functions
• Lead interactions with regulators, auditors, and senior leadership, ensuring full compliance with applicable rules
• Manage and mentor the Risk team to drive a proactive, high‑standards risk culture

Key Requirements

• 15+ years of investment risk experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles within asset management or financial services
• Demonstrated ability to design and evolve enterprise wide risk and continuity frameworks in regulated environments
• Strong technical skills in risk assessment, stress testing, regulatory engagement, and crisis management
