Overview

Greenly was founded in 2019 with the mission to make carbon management as essential as financial management. It is a global leader in carbon accounting, B-Corp certified, and part of the French Tech 120. We help companies measure, reduce, and report their emissions with smart data collection and automation.

About the team

As part of the staff team, you will report directly to our CEO and COO. This high‑exposure seat intersects the CEO office, finance, strategy, investor relations, M&A, and business operations.

About the role

This intentionally broad position is designed for someone who wants to understand how a company is run end‑to‑end – from board and investor communication to budgeting, M&A, performance management, and operational execution. Over time, it can become a platform for broader leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a close partner to the CEO on high‑priority topics: prepare strategic memos, decision documents, and executive presentations; support CEO‑level prioritization and follow‑up; help prepare leadership meetings, board meetings, and investor updates; coordinate cross‑functional projects across finance, sales, product, customer success, legal and operations; translate strategy into clear operating priorities; identify bottlenecks, risks and execution gaps; and support sensitive, confidential initiatives.
  • Strengthen Greenly's KPI architecture: translate the annual budget into operational KPIs; improve business planning and scenario analysis; help define the trajectory across growth, profitability and cash; track key indicators such as ARR, bookings, churn, NRR, gross margin, burn, runway and sales efficiency; help leadership understand the financial implications of their decisions; and strengthen budget ownership across teams.
  • Support Greenly's corporate development agenda in a consolidating market: analyse acquisition, merger and partnership opportunities; build investment cases; prepare valuation and synergy analyses; support due diligence; work with investors, lawyers, bankers and advisors; prepare board materials for transactions; and help design and track post‑merger integration and value creation.
  • Help prepare board decks, investor updates, financing and lender/banking materials, strategic financial narratives and performance reviews – communicating Greenly's performance, strategy and trajectory with clarity, rigor and credibility.
  • Improve management reporting and CEO/leadership dashboards; track budget vs. actuals; analyse performance by segment, geography, product or team; identify productivity and margin opportunities; clarify KPI ownership; support bonus and incentive calculations; and improve recurring business reviews.

Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, a CFO office, or strategic finance in a SaaS/B2B software company.
  • Strong project management skills – able to drive complex, cross‑functional projects end‑to‑end.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling ability with a solid understanding of corporate finance.
  • Bilingual: at least C1 in both English and French.
  • Strong business judgment and can move from high‑level strategy to operational detail.
  • Genuine interest in M&A and strategic transactions.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives, investors and board members, with the maturity to handle confidential, high‑stakes topics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to simplify complex issues.
  • Strong ownership and reliability, comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data.
  • Structured, rigorous, analytical, business‑oriented, ambitious but humble, pragmatic and hands‑on.
  • Interested in company‑building, not just analysis, with ambition to grow into a senior finance or corporate leadership role.

Nice to have

  • Education from a top engineering or business school.
  • Background or strong interest in climate, ESG, or the energy transition.
  • Experience with corporate development, due diligence or post‑merger integration.

  • Competitive salary package.
