Chief Investment Officer (CIO) – Private Equity Fund (Regenerative Agriculture) – Platform Build-Up

The opportunity

We are hiring a Chief Investment Officer to join a newly established direct Private Equity fund dedicated to supporting the transition of agricultural systems toward regenerative and biogenic farming practices.

Backed by a world‑class global investor, this initiative represents a unique opportunity: to build an impact‑driven investment platform at global scale, combining the resources of a major institution with the agility and mindset of a start‑up.

The fund will invest internationally across the entire agricultural value chain, with an active, hands‑on investment approach.

Your responsibilities

• Origination & execution
  • Identify, assess, and execute investment opportunities globally
  • Lead the full investment cycle (screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, closing)
  • Contribute to defining the fund’s investment strategy (theses, geographies, subsectors)
  • Actively participate in building the platform (processes, tools, governance)
  • Bring entrepreneurial thinking in a newly created environment
  • Support portfolio companies through a hands‑on approach (operational transformation, growth strategy, impact)
  • Work closely with management teams
  • Integrate ESG and impact considerations at the core of value creation
• Representation
  • Represent the fund within global ecosystems
  • Engage with LPs and the sponsor

Profile sought

• Significant experience in Private Equity (direct investing), with a proven track record
• Strong origination and execution capabilities on complex transactions
• Strong interest in agriculture, environmental themes, and economic transition models
• Exposure to or strong sensitivity to impact / sustainability investing is highly valued
• International experience and ability to operate in multicultural environments
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong appetite for building from the ground up
• Ability to combine strategic vision with strong execution discipline
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
