TiHive is a French venture-backed and EIC funded industrial deeptech scale-up commercialising Terahertz- and AI-based vision systems for real-time industrial quality control and process optimisation.

Our business combines advanced hardware, embedded systems, software, cloud services and recurring SaaS revenues. TiHive is entering a new phase of commercial growth, industrialisation and international expansion.

We are looking for a hands‑on CFO who can structure the finance function, support the company’s growth and execute the financial roadmap alongside the CEO and the Executive Committee.

The Role

The CFO will lead TiHive’s financial management and help build the systems, processes and reporting needed for the company’s scale‑up phase.

The role combines financial strategy and execution. The CFO will work closely with the CEO on fundraising, financing and investor relations, while ensuring strong day‑to‑day financial control, clear reporting and efficient internal processes.

The CFO will also support the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors with reliable financial information, analysis and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage budgets, rolling forecasts, cash‑flow plans and multi‑year financial models.
  • Deliver clear monthly reporting to the CEO, Executive Committee and Board.
  • Monitor revenue, ARR, gross margin, project profitability, burn rate, runway, working capital, CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Develop financial reporting suited to a business combining hardware, industrial projects, services and SaaS revenues.
  • Support pricing, unit economics, hardware margins, deployment costs and customer profitability analysis.
  • Work with the CEO on fundraising strategy, preparation and execution.
  • Prepare financial models, investor materials, data rooms and due diligence processes.
  • Take part in discussions with existing and potential investors.
  • Manage relationships with banks, financial partners, auditors, accountants and advisers.
  • Lead public and non‑dilutive funding activities, including Bpifrance, EIC, European programmes and other relevant schemes.
  • Coordinate CIR and other innovation tax‑credit processes, including documentation, reporting and audit readiness.
  • Oversee accounting, tax, statutory reporting and compliance with French financial and corporate practices.
  • Build scalable processes for purchasing, invoicing, collections, expense approval and monthly closing.
  • Support the Executive Committee on investments, recruitment, commercial contracts and strategic decisions.
  • Support the financial and contractual structuring of international sales and export activities.
  • Track ESG indicators and prepare ESG reporting for the Board, investors and funding organisations.
  • Select and implement the finance, reporting and automation tools required as the company grows.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, audit, transaction services, financial advisory, innovation financing or a CFO‑related role.
  • Experience working with startups, scale‑ups, technology SMEs or entrepreneurial companies.
  • Experience in deeptech, industrial technology, hardware, software or SaaS companies.
  • Good understanding of a business model combining hardware sales, industrial deployments, services and recurring SaaS revenue.
  • Strong understanding of scale‑up challenges, including growth management, process development, financing, reporting and governance.
  • Direct involvement in at least one fundraising process.
  • Experience preparing financial models, investor materials, data rooms or due diligence.
  • Strong knowledge of French accounting, tax, corporate and financial practices.
  • Experience with Bpifrance, CIR and public or European funding programmes.
  • Experience with EIC funding is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in export, international contracts or cross‑border finance is a strong plus.
  • Fluent English and professional proficiency in French.
  • Strong financial modelling, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.

Candidates from consulting, audit, transaction services, accounting or innovation‑financing firms are welcome, provided they have strong experience supporting startup financing, fundraising and growth.

AI Literacy

The CFO is expected to use AI tools as part of their daily work.

This includes:

  • Using AI to improve financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, research and document preparation.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive finance and administrative tasks.
  • Understanding the main opportunities, limits and risks of AI tools.
  • Applying appropriate judgement regarding data confidentiality, accuracy and validation.
  • Supporting efficient and responsible use of AI within the finance function.

Technical AI development skills are not required, but practical AI literacy is essential.

Personal Qualities

  • Hands‑on and execution‑focused.
  • Structured, rigorous and reliable.
  • Able to build processes and improve them as the company grows.
  • Comfortable working closely with the CEO, Executive Committee and Board.
  • Strong communicator with investors, banks, public funding bodies and advisers.
  • Able to challenge decisions and propose practical solutions.
  • Interested in deeptech, AI and industrial innovation.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and accountability.

What TiHive Offers

  • A key leadership role in a growing French industrial deeptech company.
  • Direct collaboration with the CEO, Executive Committee, Board and investors.
  • A central role in fundraising, financing, growth management and international expansion.
