Chief Brand Officer | Global Luxury Brand

Phifer & Company is conducting a retained search for a Chief Brand Officer for a global luxury house entering its next chapter of growth.

This is a rare mandate: full ownership of brand strategy, creative direction, communications, and marketing for an iconic name, with a global team of roughly 70 reporting in. The CBO will sit on the executive committee, reporting directly to the CEO, and will shape how the brand shows up everywhere, from campaign to retail to client experience, across every region.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and steward global brand strategy and positioning across all categories, regions, and channels, balancing heritage with contemporary relevance
• Lead global creative direction for campaigns, brand content, and client experience, partnering with top-tier creative talent and agencies
• Own global communications and PR, including media relations, ambassador strategy, and reputation management
• Oversee global marketing strategy and investment, including media, digital/social, and brand events
• Build and scale a high‑performing global team of approximately 70 across creative, communications, PR, and digital
• Serve as a senior spokesperson and brand ambassador with press, cultural institutions, and key stakeholders
• Partner with Merchandising, Retail, and Digital Commerce leadership to ensure brand strategy drives commercial results without diluting exclusivity
• Manage a significant global brand and marketing budget with full accountability for ROI and brand health

Qualifications

• 15+ years in brand, marketing, and communications leadership, including 5+ years as a CMO, CBO, or equivalent at a global luxury, premium fashion, or lifestyle house
• Proven brand‑building across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas
• Genuine creative taste paired with commercial instincts
• Experience leading large, distributed teams through matrixed organizations
• The presence and polish to represent the brand publicly at the highest level
