Responsibilities

  • Defining and steering a category strategy
    • Develop and maintain category expertise and market watch including competitors, suppliers, market trends and innovations, in connection with technical experts.
    • Understand and challenge current and future business needs with BU procurement teams to align with the BU category strategy.
    • Build and steer the category core team globally (including O&M Category leader, Project Buyer, key BU and DU stakeholders).
  • Global approach for BUs and DUs
    • Co-design global category strategy with the category core team using levers such as contractual negotiation, contract implementation and compliance, standardization, and demand management.
  • Participation in tenders
    • Participate in commercial bids and contribute value and differentiation.
  • Risk management
    • Develop and implement risk management and mitigation plans.
  • Supplier relations
    • Organise Business Reviews with strategic suppliers (including feedback, current projects, and upcoming works).
  • Specific BU approach
    • Lead RFQ for strategic projects (out of E&C).
  • Supplier Relationship Management and optimization
    • Negotiate, execute and monitor global agreements (KPIs, continuous improvement, customer/supplier balance).
    • Support contractual or business litigations (escalation process).
    • Support BUs and DUs in global/local supplier or contract negotiations.
    • Support CSR initiatives related to the category.
  • Category performance steering
    • Track and report category performance globally (KPIs, reporting, etc.) to procurement/management/business.
  • Global category animation

Qualifications

  • Business and/or Engineering school. Master’s in Procurement. At least 5 years of experience in a procurement role.
  • Technical appetite. Prior knowledge of the product category, as well as knowledge of the market and suppliers, is advantageous.
  • Hard skills: negotiation, communication, risk management.
  • Soft skills: leadership, open and collaborative mindset, customer focus.
  • Fluent English.
