Payment Project Leader – Role Overview
As Payment Project Leader, you will play a key role in defining and implementing the Group payment strategy. As a payment expert, you will support our subsidiaries, lead cross‑functional projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes to support Lyreco’s digital transformation ambitions.
Responsibilities
- Act as the expert on payment methods, payment processes, compliance requirements and their impact on IT systems and Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
- Build the customer payment digitalization roadmap.
- Define and oversee the Group customer payment methods strategy and its implementation.
- Lead payment‑related projects in collaboration with local subsidiaries, IT experts and other Group functions.
- Ensure lean, optimized and standardized payment processes across the Group.
- Support and train key stakeholders within our subsidiaries.
- Build and produce reporting tools enabling effective monitoring and decision‑making.
- Monitor regulatory changes and market developments, ensuring compliance with requirements such as PCI‑DSS.
- Ensure the security of payment transactions.
- Develop and maintain compliant internal documentation.
- Recommend appropriate payment solutions to enhance customer experience and cash collection processes.
- Conduct reviews and audits across subsidiaries to ensure the correct application of Group procedures.
- Produce ad‑hoc financial analyses and provide expertise on specific payment‑related topics.
- Act as both Payment Product Owner and Project Manager.
- Contribute to Treasury and Order‑to‑Cash projects.
- Select the most appropriate providers based on service quality and cost efficiency.
- Continuously improve and standardize payment processes.
- Create, monitor and enhance reporting and KPIs, including payment performance, fraud indicators and authorization rates.
- Support subsidiaries on day‑to‑day payment activities and local business initiatives.
- Act as the Group Finance point of contact for studies and projects impacting the payment domain.
- Support internal stakeholders (Customer Experience, Marketing, Customer Care, IT and Architecture teams) in translating business requirements into compliant payment flows.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the payment, banking or financial services industry.
- At least 3 years of project management experience.
- Strong understanding of the payment methods ecosystem.
- PSP knowledge mandatory.
- Professional proficiency in both English and French.
- SAP knowledge and additional technical skills considered a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset combined with the ability to identify innovative and compliant solutions.
- Ability to zoom in on details while maintaining a broader strategic perspective.
- Strong negotiation and decision‑making capabilities.
- Leadership skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Proactive mindset and ability to adapt within a multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Master’s degree (Bachelor +4/+5) in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
