Overview
We are looking for an experienced Chef to provide meals of an excellent standard for both our guests and our team, whilst managing the kitchen environment and catering function.
Please note the requirement of an EU passport - for the sake of clarity this means a passport issued by an EU country/right to work within the EU.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen and catering function to deliver high-quality meals for guests and staff.
- Prepare a 6-day menu, ensuring consistent quality of meals at all times.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure meals are prepared on time and within budget.
- Utilise fresh, local produce when possible and source and manage the best local stock within budget.
- Work within a budget, organise own time, and plan days around meal preparation, while applying your own flair and personality in an autonomous role.
- Feed up to 45 guests in the ski lodge, including a 3-course evening meal with wine, hot breakfast, and afternoon tea with cakes.
Qualifications
- Experienced chef with a passion and flair for cooking and proven experience in a professional kitchen.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and, importantly, to run and manage a large kitchen.
- Strong organisational skills and the maturity to operate autonomously while collaborating with front-of-house and other team members.
- Experience working to budgets and planning meals around seasonal stock and guest expectations.
