Verkor is now focusing on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk, France. The ambition is an initial annual production of 16 GWh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300 000 electric vehicles annually.
Role: Cell Assembly Engineer / Senior Engineer – Process Assembly Team
In this role you will actively participate in the industrial adventure to shape the future of European mobility. You will be responsible for the assembly processes, including Notching/Baking/Stacking and winding/X-ray/Welding and Packaging. After a trial period you will take responsibility for one of the assembly processes. The role is based in our gigafactory located near Dunkerque (north of France).
Responsibilities
- Oversee equipment related to the gigafactory assembly process.
- Collaborate with the product engineering team to optimise assembly processes for the cell design.
- Improve assembly processes by increasing process automation, saving capital and operating costs.
- Test and validate state-of-the-art technologies for use in the assembly process.
- Investigate root causes of defects in the assembly process during operation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or engineering diploma, preferably in industrial, mechanical, electrical, materials or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with battery manufacturing processes.
- For senior role: minimum of 8 years of experience in the battery industry.
- Strong statistical and data analysis skills with tools such as Python, Matlab, and Minitab.
- Ability to think laterally and innovatively.
