• At Danone, our Research & Innovation (R&I) division is at the heart of our mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible. To invent the future of food and become truly future‑fit, we have launched DDAI (Data, Digital & AI), a transformative program designed to revolutionise our R&I landscape.
• Our DDAI strategy is focused on delivering significant value across six strategic flagships, including pioneering work in Gut Health & Microbiome, In Silico Modeling, Consumer Insights and Digitisation & Efficiency.
• The DDAI Lab’s mission is to accelerate the delivery of these initiatives, build the strong data foundations needed to power AI, and ensure we focus on the most valuable projects. We are currently driving our top 20 priority projects, a dynamic portfolio composed of 14 high‑impact use cases and 6 foundational projects.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of DDAI Tech & AI, the Head of R&I Tech & Architecture is the primary technical authority for building our DDAI solutions and will:

• Act as the key technical liaison ("referent") for the central IT & Data team, guiding all architecture decisions for the DDAI platform and products.
• Lead and mentor the team of data architects and software engineers, animating the technical community and driving the development of DDAI products.
• Define the technical roadmap and ensure robust security, scalability, and seamless integration with central platforms like OneSource.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance, leadership and mentorship to the team of data architects and software engineers, animating the community to foster excellence and solve complex technical problems.
• Define and implement the technical roadmap for the DDAI product portfolio in close collaboration with the Director of Tech & AI and central IT & Data.
• Ensure all data architecture and engineering practices comply with regulatory requirements and Danone’s policies and standards.
• Serve as the primary technical authority on all enterprise architecture decisions related to the DDAI programme, ensuring solutions build upon and integrate coherently with each other.
• Manage and optimise the DDAI platform for performance, scalability and reliability, acting on behalf of IT & Data.
• Lead the software development lifecycle for DDAI products.
• Act as a key facilitator between the DDAI team and IT & Data departments to ensure technology integration and full leverage of the OneSource platform.
• Oversee and ensure security validation processes are thoroughly executed for all data systems, maintaining a close link with the CISO (RSSI).

About You

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, software development or data and cloud architecture.
• Strong understanding of data architecture frameworks, engineering best practices and security protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in data management tools, cloud platforms and emerging technologies.
• Experience in Azure, AWS and Databricks environments.
