Food Law Counsel – Dairy (M/F) on a permanent contract (CDI) , ASAP , based in Paris‑Saclay . The Food Law Counsel – Dairy ensures compliance across all segments of the food chain, including classification, labelling, and advertising, with a strong focus on nutrition and health claims for multi‑local Dairy brands. In this role, you support CBU teams (Marketing, Claim Manager, Regulatory & Health Affairs, Innovation Task Force, local legal counsels) as well as Marketing Topline teams by providing guidance and monitoring product communications. You ensure that claims are consistent, robust, and aligned with clinical evidence and local regulatory frameworks, while anticipating their impact on our communications. Your recommendations must balance business needs with the protection of the Group’s interests.

Responsibilities

  • Secure communication with science and applicable regulation.
  • Follow the evolving regulatory environment.
  • Analyse and watch upcoming legislations.
  • Contribute to the definition of Danone policies and protect our territories (categories, product definition such as probiotics, dairies – milk, fermented milk, etc.).
  • Implement the Group strategy to reinforce the ownership of our science, process, data and claims.
  • Draft and validate contracts with third parties involving regulatory topics.
  • Provide support to the CBU for the management of any legal issue or challenge resulting from the communication, labelling or presentation of our products.
  • Non‑judicial actions (warning letters, negotiations, etc.).
  • Administrative actions in response to regulatory authorities or national bodies in charge of validating advertising.
  • Judicial actions relating to misleading advertising, unfair competition, class actions, etc.
  • Criminal actions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Law with a minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in Food Law or Regulatory Affairs.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, used to interacting with high‑level stakeholders in cross‑functional teams.
  • Able to build a communication strategy and secure new projects and local needs; experience with health claims is preferred.
  • Experience defending the brand against external challenges of communication labelling.
  • Familiar with, used to working together with, external service providers (law firms, authorities, etc.).
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset, able to challenge the status quo, make an impact, and be solution‑oriented.
