Career Employment Services Consultant II (S)

The NCWorks Career Center provides a full range of services to diverse categories of job seekers and employers. This full‑time position (40 hours per week) is located in Clayton. The primary purpose is to deliver information, guidance and assistance to customers seeking employment and to employers seeking workers through programs administered by the Division of Workforce Solutions and local Workforce Boards.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the Career Center and local businesses.
- Identify employer needs and promote job opportunities.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies, including organization of job fairs (hiring events) and outreach to local companies.
- Maintain relationships with employers to understand workforce requirements.
- Collaborate with career advisors and job seekers to provide guidance on job market trends and application techniques.
- Provide priority employment services, including services for migrant and seasonal farm workers, veterans, dislocated workers, and parolees as applicable.
Qualifications
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and events such as hiring events and employer outreach initiatives.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, understanding the needs of both employers and candidates.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of job‑search strategies, resume writing and interview preparation techniques.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and one year of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work; or
Associate degree and three years of experience in the same fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
