Produce polished Canadian French recordings from supplied scripts. Compensation is measured by the duration of the finished audio delivered and accepted, so recording, retakes and editing time are part of preparing that output.

Responsibilities

• Read the script with accurate pronunciation and an engaging, natural rhythm.
• Treat punctuation, pauses and emphasis carefully; follow the exact transcript or make permitted pacing edits under the assignment rules.
• Record retakes where delivery or sound quality falls short of the brief.
• Edit the material, check the final files and deliver a consistent set of recordings.
• Deliver mono WAV files at 44.1 kHz, with less than one second of leading and trailing silence and no audible breaths.

Requirements and preferred background

You must be a native speaker of Canadian French, born and raised in Canada. A professional home recording setup is required, including a suitable microphone, sound treatment, audio interface, pop filter and post-production software.

Professional voice-acting experience is strongly preferred, but relevant speaking and audio work also provides a route: music, television, podcasts, streaming, comedy, online video or radio. Bring control of vocal expression and the ability to repeat a performance without losing consistency.

Deliverables and compensation

The output is edited speech audio that meets the agreed script and technical requirements. Plan for roughly two to ten working hours per week, with the actual schedule confirmed before acceptance. Work can be performed remotely; the language-background requirement still applies.

Pay is $310/finished audio hour in USD. A finished audio hour means sixty minutes of accepted recording, not sixty minutes spent working. IXO will agree acceptance criteria, corrections and any recording-use terms before work begins.
