Offer Description
SCHADOC is a COFUND doctoral program hosted at Aix-Marseille University (amU), designed as an interdisciplinary, intersectoral and international training initiative. SCHADOC will recruit 40 fellows for 36 months over the course of two calls (20 fellows recruited in 2025 and 20 fellows in 2026) to develop thesis research projects in relation with four thematic axes:
Societies and culture
Climate change and environmental challenges
Health and well-being
Artificial Intelligence and its applications
The current call concerns students willing to apply to the selected thesis projects proposed by PIs. It will open on April 13th 2026 at 12:00.
The monthly gross salary will be 3224€. After excluding mandatory contributions, the monthly net salary to be offered to each fellow (living allowance + mobility allowance) will be approximately 2,123€, plus a net family allowance of 379€ if applicable. Moreover, each ESR will benefit from a 23.400€ research, mobility and training allowance.

Eligible applicants are Early Stage researchers complying with the following criteria:
- Not to be in possession of a doctorate or register to another doctoral program;
- Have less than 4 years of full-time research experience at the call deadline. Research experience is calculated from the time the first diploma obtained allowing to embark on a doctorate;
- Candidates cannot have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months during the 36 months preceeding the call deadline;
- Be, at the time of recruitment , in possession of the master’s degree or equivalent diploma which formally allows to embark on a doctorate in France;
- Have a minimum level of English proficiency equivalent to B1 (read, write, speak) based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (B1= intermediate/independent user).
