Cabin & Cargo Mechanical Equipment (M/F) - In-Service Engineering
Job Description
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Cabin & Cargo Mechanical Equipment Engineer (f/m) to join our In‑Service Engineering Department in Toulouse, France. The engineer will provide technical assistance on Cabin & Cargo systems for the entire in‑service fleet, from the first Wide‑Body aircraft to the latest A350, A330neo and A321XLR.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key technical referent for one or two primary perimeter domains and be involved in secondary perimeters.
- Answer customer queries through the Tech Request Manager tool, following up via phone and discussion with airlines or their representatives.
- Mentor newcomers (apprentices, interns and temporary staff) by providing technical training and awareness sessions.
- Participate in standby overnight and weekend shifts as needed and provide on‑site assistance when required.
- Monitor and record in‑service events, identify potential recurring or safety issues, and initiate corrective action (e.g., Major In Service Problem or Request For Work) in collaboration with Engineering Role Technical Leader, Programme and Design organisations.
- Propose, author and review Pre‑Defined Solutions, provide In‑Service Information and Technical Follow‑Up to airlines ensuring high quality and added value.
- Ensure a feedback loop of in‑service experience, maintenance activities and significant issues to management, design organisation, and suppliers.
- Participate in meetings, webinars, and regional conferences to communicate effectively to airlines and internal/external stakeholders on assigned technical topics.
- Attend Expert forum sessions and provide workshops to airlines as requested by the Airbus in‑service services catalogue.
- Review documentation for new programmes and modifications to in‑service programmes (AMM and TSM) and contribute to the Change Request process.
Qualifications
- Engineering background with experience in aircraft systems or structures, preferably in Cabin & Cargo systems.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for communication with customers, design offices and external stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation, coordination and relational skills to handle customers, design offices, vendors and internal Airbus departments.
- Team player with adaptability, flexibility and strong people skills for coordinating activities beyond pure technical topics.
