Lead Engineer, C&I biased – Lognes, France

Role Summary

The Lead Engineer will drive the engineering of medium‑size projects at Honeywell Industrial Automation and Measurement & Control. Responsibilities include leading design, sourcing, and collaboration with discipline engineers, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications, applicable codes and standards, and Honeywell’s quality management system. The role requires strong focus on on‑time delivery, first‑time right, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of projects from design through industrialization.
• Act as the technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships and ensuring project requirements are fully defined and agreed.
• Coordinate with discipline engineers and suppliers to meet design inputs, documentation, schedule, and budget.
• Influence conceptual design for basic engineering (P&ID, system architecture, layout, FDS, etc.).
• Produce and review project deliverables: basic and detailed design, calculations, instrumentation selection, wiring diagrams, manufacturing specifications, inspection and test plans, BOMs, and FAT/SAT procedures.
• Support FAT, commissioning, start‑up, and customer training.
• Provide technical support during industrial phase, including troubleshooting, improvements, changes, and variations.
• Ensure engineering solutions meet functionality, quality, and cost requirements, leveraging standard builds and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement, document lessons learned, and adapt best practices across projects.
• Maintain compliance with international and French codes, safety culture, and Honeywell’s QMS.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within process‑control industry.
• Strong knowledge of primary measuring instruments (flow meters), secondary instruments (PT, TT), flow computers, gas chromatographs, PLC, SCADA, and energy calculation standards.
• In‑depth knowledge of gas flow measurement and regulation.
• Familiarity with French codes and standards, including GrdF technical requirements.
• Experience with HAZOP studies.
• Proven leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline‑driven environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Fluent French and English.
